Willard Carroll "Will Smith" (born September 25, 1968) is a famous American actor, comedian, producer, rapper, and composer. He has had considerable success in television, movies, and music. In April 2007, Newsweek proclaimed him the most powerful actor in Hollywood. To her credit, Smith has five Golden Globe nominations, two Academy Awards, and four Grammy Awards.
In the late 1980s, Smith rose to prominence as The Fresh Prince, a rapper. His celebrity peaked in 1990 when he starred in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which conducted for six seasons. After the show ended, Smith appeared in many big films. He is the only actor with eight straight films generating over $100 million domestically.

Forbes ranks Smith as the most bankable star worldwide. By 2014, 17 of his 21 leading roles had grossed over $100 million each, with five surpassing $500 million in global box office receipts. His films have earned a total of $6.6 billion worldwide.
Smith was born in West Philadelphia and attended Overbrook High School. He began as the MC for the hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, receiving critical acclaim and the first Grammy in the Rap category.
Smith experienced financial difficulties in the late 1980s due to unpaid taxes, but his fortunes improved with The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Smith, determined to become the world's most prominent movie star, researched box office hits. Smith is married to actress Jada Pinkett, and they have two children, Jaden and Willow. The family presently lives in Los Angeles, California.
