Mahendra
Singh Dhoni is an Indian cricketer born on 07 July 1981 in Bihar and belongs to
the Hindu Rajput family with roots in Uttarakhand. He is the youngest child of
Pan Singh Tomar and Devaki Devi. His parents shifted to Ranchi from Uttarakhand.
Earlier, he played as a goalkeeper for his DAV Jawahar
Lal Nehru school football team, and after seeing his goalkeeping skills, his
coach Keshav Ranjan Banerjee picked him to play cricket for his school cricket
team. His outstanding wicket-keeping skills help him to become a wicketkeeper
in Commando Cricket Club from 1995 - 1998.
He worked as a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) at
Kharagpur Railway Station under Southern Railway in Midapur district Bengal
from 2001 to 2003.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni debuted in ODI cricket on 23
December 2004. He is a right-hand batsman, wicketkeeper, and captain of the
Indian national cricket team for the limited-overs format from 2007 - 2017 and
in test cricket from 2008 to 2014.
Junior Cricket In Bihar
Deval Shay, Ranchi District cricket's president and
former vice president of Bihar cricket, selected Dhoni for Central Coal Fields Limited
(CCL) in 1998 when he was in 12th standard. His excellent performance in CCL
allowed him to play in the Ranji Junior Cricket team and Bihar Ranji Cricket
Team within one year.
Bihar Ranji Cricket Team
In 1999-2000 Dhoni made his debut in Ranji Cricket Team
as an 18-year-old. In the second inning against Assam, he scored a half-century
in his debut match and scored 68. Dhoni ended the season with 283 runs in 5
games. In the 2000/01 season, Dhoni scored his first-class century against
Assam, and this match finished as a draw. In the 2000/02 season, he scored five
fifties in 4 Ranji matches. In the Ranji ODI tournament (2003-2004), he scored
a century (128) in the first match.
Indian Cricket Team
In the 2003-2004 season, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was
selected for the Indian A squad in ODI for a tour of Zimbavia and Kenya. At
Harare Sports club against Zimbavia XI, Dhoni had his best wicket-keeping
efforts with seven catches and four stumping in the single match. He scored a
back-to-back century against Pakistan A. His outstanding performance in the
series got the attention of Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguli.
He has a beautiful cricket career. He became captain of
the India cricket team in 2007. During his captaincy, he led India to many
achievements (2010 and 2016 Asian World Cup). He is the best wicketkeeper and
finisher. He also completed 10000 runs in ODI.
In the Indian Premier League (IPL) from 2008-2021, Dhoni
is the leading Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the ultimate team to victory in
2010,2011,2018,2021 in the IPL edition.
On 30 December 2014, MS Dhoni announced his retirement
from ODI cricket. He retires from all cricket formate on 15 August 2020.
