Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a Bollywood actor who has been in the industry. He is known for his intense performances and versatility. Nawazuddin Siddiqui was born in Budhana, a small town in Uttar Pradesh, on 15 April 1974. His father worked as a farmer, while his mother worked as a housewife. Nawazuddin had an elder sister and two younger brothers.
In a place where education is scarce, he and his brothers and sisters worked hard to obtain what they could. In what felt like a scene from a Bollywood film, the community only knew three things: wheat, sugarcane, and weapons. Because of the firearms, this lower-middle-class family fled to seek a better life.
While the family continued to make ends meet after the relocation, this son graduated from a university in Haridwar and subsequently worked as a scientist at a petrochemical business in Baroda. He moved to Delhi and worked as a watchman in several places after finding it difficult to adapt. During this time, he frequented theaters and plays and began to participate in them. After that, he studied at the National School of Drama (NSD), where he received his degree in 1996.
He traveled to Mumbai after earning a relevant degree to try his luck in Bollywood, but he didn't even have enough money to pay his rent. He moved from studio to studio, set to set, all day, finding himself just playing minor roles or being a part of a crowd. He approached an NSD senior and asked if he may stay at his house; the senior consented on the condition that Nawaz cook twice a day.
He made his debut in 1999's Sarfarosh, directed by Aamir Khan, playing a terrorist. This was followed by minor parts throughout the next three years, and his poverty persisted during this time. Before getting his big break in Anurag Kashyap's Black Friday, he has made appearances in a few television shows and short films (2007). Patang, his first significant starring role, premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival. He became well-known, though, after playing a journalist in the movie Peepli Live.
With films like Kahaani and Gangs of Wasseypur doing so well at the box office, 2012 was a watershed moment for him, and it was then that the world saw the true potential of this amazing performer. Nawaz never looked back after that. Later, he appeared as a leading actor in blockbuster films like Talaash, Badlapur, Lunchbox, Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Raees, and the Oscar-nominated Lion.
