Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan's father's name was Sarvepalli Veeraswamy and his mother's name was Sitamma. Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan ji was a person of sharp intelligence since childhood.

Education:

Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan's early education was done smoothly in the village itself. Being a meritorious student, he was admitted to the Lutheran Mission School Tirupati, run by the Christian Missionary Society, where he stayed from 1896 to 1900.
In 1900, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan took education from Vellore College and passed the MA examination in Philosophy in 1906.

He began teaching philosophy at the Madras Presidency College in 1909. In the year 1916, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan became Assistant Professor of Philosophy in the same college itself.

In 1918, he was appointed Professor of Philosophy by the University of Mysore. Thereafter he became a teacher of Indian Philosophy at Oxford University in England.
The college from which he had passed his MA, also elected the vice-chancellor of the same college. But after one year, he left the said service and took over the post of Vice-Chancellor in Banaras University.

After independence, when Jawaharlal Nehru urged Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, That he should dedicate his service to the country as a special ambassador, to fulfill the diplomatic tasks with the Soviet Union. So, accepting the above work eagerly, he gave the highest place to the service of the country. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan played an important role in the Constituent Assembly from 1947 to 1949. In 1954, he was awarded the Bharat Ratna, the country's highest civilian honor, for his outstanding contribution in the field of education and politics.

Political Career:

He started his political career after a successful academic career. He served the country as the Vice President from 13 May 1952 to 13 May 1962. Every member of Parliament was greatly influenced by Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's behavior and his style of working. Therefore, in May 1962, he was unanimously elected as the President of the country.

Face Challenges: His presidential tenure proved to be quite challenging as compared to Dr. Rajendra Prasad ji. Because during that time India had to face wars between Pakistan and China. In 1962, the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (September 5) was unanimously decided to be celebrated annually as Teachers' Day. At the same time, he was made a member of the British Academy, and Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was awarded the Order of Merit by the Government of England. Addressing the country on Republic Day in 1967, Dr. Radha Krishna ji said, "Today I am giving my last speech, perhaps this will be my last speech as President.

Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan Mahapurush died on 17 April 1975 due to a long illness which was an irreparable loss to the country. He always came alive in the hearts of the people of the country, in the form of memories, as a personality. In 1975, he was posthumously awarded the Templeton Prize by the US government. which is provided in the field of religion.
